Our mission is to transform students from academic strugglers to achievers. We are organized to provide educational services to individuals of all ages in underserved communities, to have students perform above grade level through the enhancement of cognitive skills.
The MARZ vision is to have a team of teachers that will provide ALL students — regardless of age, ethnicity, race, or socioeconomic status— access to the educational resources necessary to propel them to academic success. We aspire to ultimately eliminate illiteracy in our community, and inspire minority students to become critical, lateral thinkers.
We believe that every student CAN LEARN and become productive, contributing, free, and responsible moral citizens. Any individual will learn if:
- his/her abilities are properly diagnosed (exploring the student’s preferred learning modality);
- he/she is placed in an educationally conducive atmosphere;
- he/she is given a carefully planned, individualized, appropriate progressive sequence of concepts and information with which to work.
Mastery will be achieved, provided that the student is directed to discover ‘how best to learn’ effectively and efficiently. These directives must include much opportunity for practice, recall, discovery, self-evaluation, and authentic communication.
